The Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) rejected Poland’s appeal against €68.5 million in accumulated penalties. These fines result from Warsaw’s refusal to cease lignite extraction at the Turów mine. This open-pit operation extends over more than 10 kilometers along the borders with the Czech Republic and Germany.
