Origin Energy has announced it will keep the Eraring coal-fired power station, located at Lake Macquarie in New South Wales, operating until April 2029. The operator had previously concluded an agreement with the state government to postpone the closure from 2025 to August 2027. This new two-year extension applies to all four production units of the facility. The plant, with a capacity of 2,880 MW, has been operational since 1984.
