Altarea Energies Renouvelables has begun construction on its first ground-mounted photovoltaic plant in the commune of Caudecoste, located in the Lot-et-Garonne department. This project marks a key step in the company’s strategy, which focuses on diversifying solar infrastructures to meet future energy needs.

7 MWc solar plant in caudecoste
The plant, with a capacity of 7 MWc, will be located on a 6.6-hectare site and will feature approximately 11,500 solar panels. According to forecasts, it will cover the annual electricity consumption of 1,550 households, while avoiding the emission of 113 tonnes of CO2 per year. This project also represents an economic benefit for the commune, which is expected to receive an annual income of around €10,000.

strategic development and local partnerships
Since 2023, Altarea Energies Renouvelables has been developing a diversified approach to renewable energy. The company focuses on several types of projects: photovoltaic rooftops, parking canopies, ground-mounted plants, agrivoltaics, and agricultural barns. This new ground-mounted plant fits perfectly within this diversification strategy.

Construction work began in March 2025, with the plant expected to be operational by the end of the year. The plant will be managed in an eco-responsible manner through the use of eco-grazing, aimed at preserving local biodiversity while ensuring the effective maintenance of the site.
