The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates, Sharif Al Olama, visited the headquarters of Tellus Power Globe Holding Limited in Hong Kong. The company develops infrastructure for electric vehicle (EV) charging and is currently involved in an industrial project in the Middle East.
Advanced technologies for the EV market
During his visit, Sharif Al Olama inspected the research and development facilities of Tellus Power, where executives presented their latest technological innovations. These included bidirectional charging solutions such as Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) and Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X), systems that allow electric vehicles to interact with the power grid and other infrastructure.
The visit also served to review the progress of the industrial project led by Tellus Power in partnership with BinHendi Holding and Sing Family Enterprise Group. This joint venture aims to establish an EV charger production unit in the United Arab Emirates, which would be among the first of its kind in the region.
Industrial deployment and localisation strategy
The construction of this facility is part of a broader strategy to position the United Arab Emirates as a regional hub for energy technologies. The project is expected to contribute to economic diversification by strengthening the national industrial base and creating new jobs. No specific investment figures or production capacities have yet been disclosed.
Tellus Power co-founder Yansong Li welcomed the partnership, calling it a strategic turning point for the company. He noted that the upcoming facility could play a role in the regional supply chain for electric mobility.
Acceleration of energy partnerships
Tellus Power plans to expand its operations in the Middle East through this public-private partnership, in collaboration with local stakeholders. The company aims to support the creation of a connected EV ecosystem tailored to the region’s specific needs.
The UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure has not announced a timeline for the implementation of the project. However, the undersecretary’s visit to Tellus Power’s facilities signals a willingness to move quickly on the industrial and logistical aspects of the cooperation.
