European Energy sells six wind farms to Enea to strengthen its strategy in Poland
European Energy has finalised two agreements to sell an 83.5 MW portfolio of wind farms to Enea, reinforcing its position as a renewable energy developer in the Polish market.

European Energy A/S, a Danish company specialising in the development of renewable energy projects, has concluded two agreements to divest six operational wind farms located in Poland. The assets, with a total installed capacity of 83.5 megawatts, will be transferred to Enea SA, one of the country’s largest electricity providers.
The installations are situated in the West Pomeranian region and were commissioned between 2021 and 2023. The portfolio includes turbines from three manufacturers: Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA, General Electric Company (GE) and Nordex SE. These transactions are part of a long-term strategy aimed at optimising European Energy’s asset portfolio while supporting its ability to develop new projects in Poland.
A priority market for European Energy
Active in Poland since 2006, European Energy is developing large-scale projects in solar photovoltaics, onshore wind and energy storage systems. According to Jens-Peter Zink, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, proceeds from this sale will be reinvested into greenfield projects, including Power-to-X solutions and significant expansion of battery storage capacity.
The company aims to accelerate its investments in grid infrastructure and hybrid projects to meet the growing demand for renewable energy. It states it has a development pipeline exceeding 5 gigawatts in Poland.
Local collaboration and capacity building
European Energy has strengthened its local operations through a territorially embedded approach, including infrastructure upgrades, support for cultural and educational initiatives, and contributions to municipal services. Olga Sypula, Country Manager for Poland, indicated that these actions are intended to generate lasting value for local communities and investors while reinforcing the country’s energy security.
By acquiring these assets, Enea SA increases its renewable generation capacity as Poland continues its path towards energy diversification. No financial details have been disclosed regarding the value of the agreements.
