Akuo Energy enters into a joint venture with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) to develop a renewable portfolio in Indonesia.

Akuo Energy expands its international portfolio

This joint venture is between Akuo Energy’s Indonesian subsidiary, PT Akuo Energy Indonesia, and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) through Copenhagen Infrastructure New Markets Fund I (CI NMF).
The aim is to develop a joint portfolio of over 400 MW of onshore wind, solar and run-of-river hydro projects in Indonesia, with potential for future development.
This transaction also marks CI NMF’s first investment in the Indonesian renewable energy market.

Strong contribution to Indonesia’s renewable development goals

“Indonesia is a market with relatively limited penetration of renewable energies, but very significant potential, and is therefore a key market for CI NMF. Together with our recently announced investment in India, this transaction demonstrates significant progress in CI NMF’s investment plan,” says Niels Holst, Partner and Head of CI NMF.

This new joint portfolio contributes 4.5% of Indonesia’s target of achieving 23% renewable energy in its electricity mix by 2025.
Astris Finance acted as exclusive financial advisor and Hadiputranto Hadinoto & Partners, a subsidiary of Baker Mckenzie, as legal advisor to CI NMF.
