OX2 – EEW SPC : Agreement for the delivery of monopile foundations

OX2, in collaboration with Ingka Investments, signs an agreement with EEW SPC for the delivery of monopile foundations for two offshore wind farms in Sweden, allowing the projects to start as soon as the final permit is obtained.

OX2 signs a conditional agreement with EEW SPC for the delivery of monopile foundations to two of the offshore wind farms the company is developing in Sweden in collaboration with Ingka Investments. This partnership will allow OX2 and Ingka Investments to begin developing projects after final permitting. Under the terms of the agreement, EEW Special Pipe Constructions GmbH & Co KG will deliver up to 230 single-pile foundations to the Galatea-Galene and Triton offshore wind farms in Sweden.

OX2 – EEW SPC: Start of a collaboration

Emelie Zakrisson, Offshore Wind Development Manager at OX2 Sweden, said, “This marks the beginning of the next chapter for our offshore projects in Sweden and we are incredibly pleased to be working with EEW. We will work closely with EEW to ensure that we can start construction as soon as possible and thus make a large-scale contribution of emission-free electricity to the regions of Sweden that need it most.”

For his part, Robert Dreves, CEO of EEW SPC, said, “We are very pleased to support OX2 in their Baltic Sea venture, for which we are geographically very well positioned to provide support from our Rostock facility.”

OX2 – EEW SPC : Two companies specialized in wind energy

Together with Ingka Investments, OX2 is developing three offshore wind farms in Sweden: Galatea-Galene on the west coast, Triton in southern Sweden and Aurora, between the islands of Gotland and Öland. Final project approval is granted by the Swedish government and the project has the potential to produce approximately 38 terawatt hours, or about one quarter of Sweden’s current consumption. OX2 is also developing offshore wind energy in Finland and outside Ã…land. The total portfolio of offshore wind projects at the end of 2022 was 13.9 gigawatts.

EEW SPC is a leading manufacturer of monopile foundations, with over 2,200 monopile foundations manufactured. Their plant in Rostock can manufacture thick-walled longitudinally welded pipes with a diameter of up to 12 meters, a length of up to 120 meters and a piece weight of up to 2,500 tons.
