ACCIONA Energía, a company specialized in renewable energy, has confirmed the acquisition of the Green Pastures I and II wind farms, located in Baylor and Knox counties, Texas. These facilities, with a combined capacity of 300 MW, were purchased for a total of 202.5 million USD from various private asset managers. This transaction brings ACCIONA’s installed capacity in the United States to 2.8 GW.

The Green Pastures I and II farms are expected to produce approximately 1.1 TWh of renewable energy annually. These facilities are connected to the network managed by the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), which covers about 90% of the Texas electricity market. ERCOT is known for its infrastructure conducive to renewable energy integration, facilitating wind energy production and distribution in the state.

Expansion of the North American Portfolio

With the Green Pastures farms, ACCIONA Energía strengthens its portfolio in North America, marking an increased presence in a market with favorable conditions for renewable energy. The location of these farms in north-central Texas complements its existing assets, providing additional geographic diversification.

Increased Installed Capacity

With 2.8 GW of installations now in the United States, ACCIONA Energía continues to develop its production capacity in the wind energy sector. This acquisition of the Green Pastures I and II farms adds to the company’s American projects, aiming to meet the growing demand for clean energy in the market.
