French company Entech has signed a contract worth over €14mn ($15.03mn) with a major energy sector player for the design, construction and maintenance of a 30 megawatt-peak (MWp) ground-mounted agrivoltaic power plant located in the Mayenne department in western France.
Scheduled to be commissioned in April 2027, this facility represents the largest photovoltaic project ever undertaken by Entech. The plant will be connected to the medium-voltage (HTA) network operated by Enedis, the main electricity distribution network operator in France.
Local partnership and contract structure
The construction work will be led by Entech Construction in partnership with a regional land development operator in western France. This partner will be responsible for all land development works, reinforcing a local collaboration for this large-scale project.
The agreement also includes a contractual commitment for 20 years of maintenance. This component aims to ensure the long-term performance and availability of the infrastructure, representing a strategic element in the company’s energy asset management.
Strategic importance for Entech
With this contract, Entech strengthens its position in the renewable energy sector, particularly in large-scale projects combining agricultural use. The agrivoltaic model enables coexistence between solar energy production and agricultural activities without reducing cultivable land.
The contract signing is part of a structured regional development dynamic, supported by investment policies in territory-integrated solar energy. The choice of a local partner for the land preparation phase reflects a desire to strengthen the territorial anchoring of the project.
