Independent energy producer VALOREM has formalised a partnership with the Union Départementale des Structures d’Insertion par l’Activité Économique de l’Aveyron (UDSIAE 12) to integrate social clauses on the construction site of the La Couvertoirade solar park. This project, currently under construction, marks VALOREM’s first operation in the department.

A commitment implemented on the ground

The site is being managed by VALREA, the group’s construction subsidiary, and will involve the hiring of four people on integration pathways across three work packages: base camp, assembly and electrical networks. In total, around 500 hours of work will be dedicated to these profiles, including long-term unemployed individuals, people under 26, and recipients of minimum social benefits.

A system already deployed on 29 projects

Since 2017, VALOREM has implemented social inclusion clauses in its energy infrastructure projects. The company reports that the initiative has involved 180 individuals across 29 construction sites in France, amounting to over 39,000 hours of work. In the Occitanie region alone, 51 people have benefited from this policy. The current allocation of working hours to job inclusion stands at 7%, with the company aiming to increase this to 10% in the coming years.

A site repurposed into a solar plant

The La Couvertoirade site, covering 6 hectares, was identified by the municipality in 2017 as suitable for the development of a solar power facility. Previously an unused motorway area, the land will host a solar park expected to go live in summer 2026, producing approximately 7 GWh of electricity per year. This represents nearly 20% of the annual electricity consumption of the Larzac et Vallées community of municipalities.

First activation of Aveyron’s single social clause window

This construction site is also the first in the department to activate the local Single Social Clause Window, a mechanism designed to support professional inclusion in public and private projects. Beyond the construction phase, the agreement with UDSIAE 12 also includes follow-up job inclusion activities, particularly for landscaping maintenance after the park is commissioned.
