The two solar sites in the UK will consist of around 170,000 solar modules. Thus, they will be able to supply the equivalent of 37,000 homes. In addition, Eastfields will employ bifacial solar modules mounted on single axis trackers.

In addition, both solar farms will incorporate a battery storage system. In addition, construction is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2023. David Johann, Belectric’s European Sales Manager, says:

“We are proud to have won Vantage RE as a partner. Being chosen to build these two exciting projects highlights our expertise in building tracker projects in the Nordics as well as integrating storage solutions into the overall solar system.”

A return to the UK

Belectric’s client, Vantage RE Ltd, owns and develops a portfolio of renewable energy assets in the UK and Europe. Ian Chisholm, Head of Solar Asset Management at Vantage RE Limited, says:

“This is an important milestone for Vantage RE and marks the expansion of our business into project development. We are excited to be working with Belectric, who brings a wealth of expertise as we deliver our two new solar farms.”

The two solar farms mark Belectric’s return to the UK as an EPC service provider.

Indeed, the company was pulling out of the country in 2015. However, the British Belectric team continued to operate and maintain the solar systems. Currently, the photovoltaic and energy storage market in the UK is experiencing a period of growth.

Belectric was building over 4GW of capacity worldwide. In addition, the company is a member of Elevion Groupe. It is a leading provider of energy services focused on sustainability and climate neutrality.
