Marius Pedersen A/S has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Better Energy, securing a supply of renewable electricity from the Fraugde solar park near Odense. This ten-year agreement enables the company to stabilize its energy costs and secure its electricity needs for its Funen facilities. Better Energy has had a number of PPA solar contracts with Danish companies for several years, giving it considerable expertise in this field.

Impact on Local Operations

The Fraugde solar park, covering 74 hectares, will generate around 81 GWh of electricity a year, meeting part of Marius Pedersen’s energy needs. The company’s facilities in Odense, Sandholt Lyndelse and Ferritslev will benefit directly from this energy, ensuring operational continuity. Mikkel Thorup, Senior Director of Power Purchase Agreements at Better Energy, emphasized the importance of this agreement for the company’s energy supply stability.

Perspective and Future Development

This agreement is part of Marius Pedersen’s wider strategy to secure sustainable and stable energy sources, meeting the growing energy needs of its operations. The collaboration with Better Energy reflects a growing trend among companies to invest in renewable energy solutions to guarantee stability of supply and reduce the risks associated with fluctuating energy prices. The agreement between Marius Pedersen A/S and Better Energy represents a strategic move to secure a sustainable and stable energy supply for the company’s operations on Funen. This commitment illustrates a growing trend towards integrating renewable energies into corporate procurement strategies.
