Boralex and Enerfip are launching on April 2, 2026 a crowdfunding campaign of 350,000 euros to finance construction of the Le Bosquet agrivoltaic plant in Saint-Didier-sous-Aubenas, in the Ardèche department. The campaign, open until May 5, initially targets Ardèche residents before expanding to neighboring departments from April 9. The amount represents 10% of the plant's construction costs, according to the two companies. Solar project financing is taking varied forms internationally, as illustrated by Doral Renewables closes financing for a 430 MWac solar project in Texas.
A 2.44 MWp plant scheduled for summer 2026
The Le Bosquet project combines photovoltaic power generation with agricultural activity on plots in Saint-Didier-sous-Aubenas. Its installed capacity will reach 2.44 MWp, with an estimated annual production of approximately 2,725 MWh, equivalent to the electricity consumption of some 1,200 people, according to Boralex. The facility would avoid the emission of nearly 648.5 tonnes of CO2 per year. Commissioning is planned for summer 2026. Other solar projects are entering production worldwide, such as Meralco PowerGen begins delivering 85 MW solar to the Luzon grid in the Philippines.
A completed regulatory process
The project received its administrative authorizations in November 2023, and its building permit has been free of legal challenges since February 2024. The plant was subsequently selected in a call for tenders by France's energy regulator, the Commission de régulation de l'énergie (CRE), in July 2024, confirming its regulatory viability. These milestones reached in less than two years demonstrate the project's maturity, according to Boralex. The solar sector is also seeing large-scale industrial ambitions, as illustrated by the Obrist Group pursuing giant solar Gigaplants for European energy autonomy.
Investment terms and campaign schedule
The campaign offers a gross interest rate of 7% per year over 3.5 years, with a minimum investment of 10 euros. Investors can contribute directly via the Enerfip platform. The campaign opens on April 2 exclusively for Ardèche residents, before expanding on April 9 to residents of the Drôme, Gard, Isère, Loire, Haute-Loire, Lozère, and Vaucluse departments. The campaign closes on May 5, 2026.
Information meetings are scheduled for April 1 at 6 p.m. and April 2 from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the municipal council hall of Saint-Didier-sous-Aubenas. These sessions give residents an opportunity to discuss the project directly with the teams in charge. The stated goal is to redistribute part of the project's economic benefits to local communities.
