Helexia, a subsidiary of Voltalia, announced the successful connection of its first Brazilian distributed generation solar assets to Vivo, a Telefonica brand. This is part of a contract to supply 87 megawatts of solar power to Vivo, based on a series of distributed energy projects in eight Brazilian states, announced in December 2021.

First 4.9 megawatt unit successfully connected

The first 4.9 megawatt unit was successfully connected in the municipality of Paranaiba (Mato Grosso do Sul State). An additional 20 megawatt unit, located in the states of Rondônia and Parana, is expected to be connected in April. The remaining 62 megawatts, located in the states of Sao Paulo, Ceara, Rio Grande do Sul, Tocantins and Amazonas, are expected to be gradually completed by the end of the year.

Brazil, a major growth market for Helexia

“With the high price of electricity due to the war in Ukraine and the unavailability of nuclear power plants in France, Helexia is expanding mainly in Europe. But Brazil is another major growth market for Helexia, which benefits from Voltalia’s leadership in the country,” said Sébastien Clerc, CEO of Voltalia.

“We are absolutely committed to our partnership with Vivo, and definitely proud to help companies accelerate their energy transition wherever we operate, including Brazil,” adds Benjamin Simonis, CEO of Helexia.

See you on March 23, 2023 for the 2022 annual results

The appointment is made for the 2022 annual results, which will be announced on March 23, 2023 before the stock market. Meanwhile, Helexia continues to develop its solar assets to help companies accelerate their energy transition, including in Brazil.
