FuturaSun has acquired a 24,000 square meter plot of land in the industrial area of Cittadella (Padova) to establish a new Gigafactory in Italy. The new plant will reach a production capacity of 2 GW/year of high efficiency photovoltaic modules manufactured with the most innovative technologies. With this €25 million investment, FuturaSun is committed to reviving the European photovoltaic supply chain, becoming one of the leading players.
An environmentally friendly Gigafactory
FuturaSun CEO Alessandro Barin said the new industrial center would be designed according to environmental sustainability criteria and would include an R&D center for applied scientific research, a large test field for product testing and improvement, a PV academy and a training center to recreate the expertise of industry professionals.
A major player in the recovery of the European photovoltaic supply chain
The FuturaSun project is part of the company’s strategic industrial plan and the European mission to rebuild the European supply chain. FuturaSun thus takes the role of one of the main actors of this mission to support continental energy transition strategies.
