Cypress Creek Renewables and Meta have announced the signing of an Environmental Attribute Purchase Agreement (EAPA) to develop a 505-megawatt direct current (MWdc) solar plant in Coleman County, Texas. This partnership aims to provide clean energy to support Meta’s operations.
Construction of the Hanson Solar plant
The plant, named Hanson Solar, will be owned and operated by Cypress Creek Renewables. Once operational, it will supply electricity to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) grid, contributing to grid reliability while meeting Meta’s energy needs.
Economic impact and project timeline
The Hanson Solar project is expected to generate over $80 million in local tax revenue and create more than 300 jobs during the construction phase. Work is set to begin later this year, with operations expected to commence in 2027.
