Astronergy’s ESG 2023 report, validated by TÜV NORD, demonstrates the company’s efforts to align its operations withthe UN Sustainable Development Goals (SD Gs) and UNGC principles. The company reduced its carbon emissions intensity by 7.12% this year, demonstrating its commitment to significantly reducing its carbon footprint by 2050.
Environmental Impacts and Reductions
In 2023, Astronergy achieved substantial resource savings, with 2,708.47 tonnes of standard coal saved, as well as significant reductions in water and energy consumption. The company also completed the upgrade of its Yancheng plant to a zero-carbon facility, reducing CO2 emissions by 42,221.37 tonnes.
Diversity and Social Inclusion
The report highlights Astronergy’s progress in the social field, in particular the increase in the proportion of women in the company, which now stands at 32% of the workforce. In addition, the company has invested around $2 million in social protection initiatives, demonstrating its commitment to the well-being of its employees.
Governance commitments
In terms of governance, Astronergy continues to promote ISO certification among its suppliers, with 81.8% of its main suppliers now ISO 14001 certified. This is part of a broader strategy of sustainable development and supply chain optimization.
