Ameresco announced the start of commercial operations at its solar energy site in Tiverton, Rhode Island.
The company also announced the mechanical completion of its Cumberland site, also in Rhode Island.
These two milestones mark a significant step forward in the development of solar energy resources in the smallest state in the United States.
Ameresco develops 10 MW of solar power in Rhode Island
4.95 MW at Tiverton
Ameresco has begun commercial operation of its solar power site in Tiverton.
The site comprises over 12,000 modules and has a power generation capacity of 4.95 MW.
5.71 MW at Cumberland
The Cumberland solar site comprises over 14,000 modules and a power generation capacity of 5.71 MW.
Commercial operation of the project is scheduled to begin in April 2021.
Agreement between Ameresco and RIAC
RIAC (Rhode Island Airport Corporation) has signed an agreement with theAmerican company as the designated supplier of the clean energy generated by the two sites.
By implementing these solutions, RIAC will be able to achieve energy savings of up to $790,000 per year.
