Albioma wins 12 MW of solar projects in Overseas France in the fourth round of the CREA4PV call for tenders.

Albioma wins 23 projects in French overseas territories

The acquisition of the 12 MW projects will involve the construction and operation ofsolar power generation facilities.
The projects will be located in the French overseas territories of Mayotte, Réunion, Guadeloupe, Martinique and French Guiana.
The 23 projects are part of the initiative launched by the French Ministry of Ecological Transition in non-interconnected areas.

Renewable energies specific to overseas France

Albioma already has 40 MW in the French overseas territories.
The company is the leader in this market, but it doesn’t stop at solar power.
The Group also producesbiomass and geothermalenergy, and has always been committed to the energy transition.
In fact, the Group has been using bagasse – the fibrous residue of sugar cane – to generate electricity for 25 years.

Albioma thinks big

Construction of the 23 projects is scheduled for 2022 in the five departments of Réunion, Mayotte, Martinique, Guyane and Guadeloupe.
However, the leading producer of photovoltaic energy in the French overseas departments is looking further afield.
The group is also setting up operations in Mauritius, Brazil and even Turkey, following the recent acquisition of a geothermal power plant.
The 12 MW of solar projects acquired by Albioma enable the company to maintain its position as leader in the French overseas territories.
This stability benefits the company, since it can also pursue projects elsewhere.
