The French Court of Auditors has published a report on the state of geothermal energy in France. The institution describes this energy as “local, renewable, carbon-free and continuously available” and considers it “has major assets for the energy transition.” Despite these characteristics, the sector remains marginal in the national energy mix at approximately 1% of final heat consumption, according to the report data.
