Aker Horizons ASA (OSE: AKH) has recently secured an essential network capacity allocation for its green ammonia projects in Norway. The company, which specializes in the development of green energy and industry, has secured 250 MW of grid capacity for its large-scale green ammonia plant project at Kvandal, near Narvik. In addition, the Berlevåg facility, also located in northern Norway, has also been awarded a 120 MW allocation.

Details of Network Capacity Allocation

Nordkraft Industrinett AS awarded the Kvandal network capacity, while Barents Nett AS awarded the Berlevåg network capacity. This allocation ensures that the Narvik green ammonia project, developed in partnership with Statkraft, has the necessary grid capacity to produce up to 1,000 tonnes of green ammonia per day. The project aims to make a final investment decision in 2025, with a view to commencing commercial operations in 2028.

Details of Network Capacity Allocation

Kristoffer Dahlberg, CFO of Aker Horizons Asset Development, shared an enthusiastic announcement, saying, “We are pleased to have secured the necessary grid capacity for our Narvik green ammonia project, thanks to Statnett’s collaboration. This allocation represents an essential milestone in the realization of our project, and consolidates the prospect of making Kvandal and Narvik a major center of the region’s emerging green industry.

Kristoffer Dahlberg’s statement reflects the importance of network capacity allocation for the Narvik green ammonia project, while underlining the company’s commitment to sustainability and green industry.

By obtaining these network capacity allocations, Aker Horizons ASA has taken a crucial step towards the realization of its green ammonia projects in Norway. These projects aim to make a significant contribution to the production of green ammonia and the expansion of green industry in the region, reinforcing the commitment to cleaner, more sustainable energy.
