In Romania, Enery obtains the renewable portfolio “Transeastern” from Jade Power Trust with a total installed capacity of 81MW.

A diversified portfolio

In Romania, Enery completes an 81MW transaction by acquiring the multi-technology portfolio of JADE Power Trust. The transaction includes two onshore wind farms, two solar photovoltaic assets and two hydroelectric plants. As a result, Enery’s total operating portfolio increases to 273MW, with total generation increasing to 375GWh.

Enery is strengthening its presence in Romania with the acquisition in September of 5 photovoltaic solar panels. In this way, Enery supplies green electricity from solar energy in Romania. In addition, the company also relies on wind and water power.

The portfolio will sell the majority of its energy production and green certificates. It has long-term sampling agreements with the largest industrial companies in Romania. Richard König, CEO and Lukas Nemec, COO of Enery say:

“We are pleased to announce the completion of the transaction, which marks the diversification of our business into onshore wind and hydro generation and further strengthens our position in Romania. We welcome our new partners to the company and thank Jade Power Trust and its shareholders for their cooperation in this transaction.”

In addition, the “Transeastern” portfolio consists of 6 energy assets. It has a total installed capacity of 81MWp. It is operated under the local green certificate program and commissioned between 2011 and 2014.

A growth strategy

The portfolio uses Tier 1 equipment suppliers, with wind power plants comprising 18 V90/3.0 MW wind turbines and 4 V90/2.0 MW Vestas wind turbines, and photovoltaic assets equipped with REC modules. The portfolio aims to acquire interests in renewable energy assets, particularly in Romania.

Based in Austria, Enery wants to be the leader in the green energy transaction in Central and Eastern Europe. It focuses on the development, construction and operation of renewable power plants. In addition, since 2021, the Three Seas Initiative Investment Fund (“3SIIF”) has been investing with Enery and supporting the expansion of its renewable energy portfolio.

The Austrian company is currently producing around 375GWh of clean electricity. It supplies nearly 170,000 homes in the region. It saves more than 130,000 tons of CO2 emissions.

Jade Power Trust aims to acquire interests in renewable energy assets in Romania. However, it operates in other European countries. In addition, the company intends to qualify as a “mutual fund trust” under the Canadian Income Tax Act.
