Braille Energy Systems Inc. announced it will take over the distribution of its specialised lithium battery line for drag racing, previously managed by Tony Christian Racing. The integration, effective from October 1, will be handled through its subsidiary Braille Battery Inc., marking a key step in streamlining the group’s motorsport activities.

Reinforcing commercial operations

Since 2009, Tony Christian Racing has exclusively distributed Braille’s 16-volt batteries, designed for the high-performance demands of professional drag racing. This product line, used in PDRA Pro Nitrous and NHRA Pro Mod circuits, has helped position Braille as a leader in the sector. Following the death of founder Tony Christian in 2022, his daughter Heather Christian-Kircher continued the operations, maintaining business continuity until this transition.

Braille Energy Systems Inc. President and Chief Executive Officer Lindsay Weatherdon stated that the acquisition is part of a broader effort to consolidate and optimise the value chain. Heather Christian-Kircher will continue in an advisory role through the end of the year, ensuring a smooth transition for dealers and racing teams.

Financial optimisation and product continuity

The acquisition is expected to be incrementally accretive to annual operating cash flow. By internalising distribution, Braille aims to gain tighter control over sales while strengthening its technical and logistical support worldwide. The company also plans to redirect resources toward accelerating the commercial strategy of Electrafy, another division seen as a key growth driver for the group.

The B168L model, a flagship product in the Drag Race Spec lineup, will remain in production and distribution. This battery delivers 2300 cranking amps and recharges in under 15 minutes, meeting the performance standards required by top-tier racing teams.
