Aquaterra, Borr Drilling and Lhyfe for Offshore Green Hydrogen

Renewable hydrogen company Lhyfe, offshore engineering pioneer Aquaterra and oil and gas company Borr Drilling sign a partnership agreement to develop and produce renewable hydrogen for the Haldane project in the North Sea.

Developing renewable hydrogen in the North Sea

The North Sea’s ubiquitous strong winds are proving to be an important renewable resource, although the less-than-strategic location of wind farms presents difficulties in terms of grid connection and consistency of power supply.
The Haldane project aims to solve these problems by creating an energy storage and conversion facility close to the wind farms, with the production of renewable hydrogen.
This alternative reduces costs and optimizes the energy efficiency of the sites.
The project will be operated using an electrolysis system on a converted jack-up platform.
Lhyfe, Aquaterra and Borr Drilling invite interested companies to submit any inquiries they may have about the project, although it is still in its early stages.
