Voltalia: Commissioning of a mixed power plant in French Guiana

Voltalia strengthens its presence as an international player in renewable energy with the commissioning of its Sable Blanc power plant. This plant combines photovoltaic production and battery storage, thus offering a sustainable energy solution in Guyana.

Voltalia, an international player in renewable energy, has announced the commissioning of its Sable Blanc power plant. This plant combines photovoltaic production with a capacity of five megawatts, and battery storage with a capacity of 10.6 megawatt hours. Developed entirely by Voltalia, the Sable Blanc mixed power plant will benefit from a guaranteed sales rate for 20 years.

3,090 inhabitants covered by electricity

The photovoltaic production capacity of the Sable Blanc plant will cover the electricity needs of 3,090 inhabitants of western Guyana. With lithium-ion batteries, electricity generated during the day can be injected after dark, improving the stability of power generation in a high-demand region.
