The 124 MW wind power project in Telsiai, Lithuania, marks an important milestone for Utilitas Wind and Latvenergo AS. The order, placed with Vestas, includes the supply and installation of 20 high-capacity wind turbines. This strategic agreement aims to strengthen the region’s renewable energy capacity, thereby consolidating the market position of these companies.
Strategy and opportunities
This is the third time Utilitas Wind has collaborated with Vestas in the Baltic States, underlining a strong partnership relationship. “We are proud to continue our collaboration and support Utilitas Wind in their expansion,” said Jens Pinderup, Vice President Sales Eastern Europe at Vestas. For Latvenergo AS, this project represents a continuation of their commitment to the wind power sector. Mārtiņš Čakste, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Latvenergo AS, expressed his satisfaction with this new milestone. The aim is to significantly increase their energy production capacity in the region.
Schedule and deployment
Construction work has already begun, and commissioning of the wind farm is scheduled for the first quarter of 2026. Rene Tammist, CEO of Utilitas Wind, confirmed that the project is on track and on schedule to start generating electricity as planned.
