Eine kommerzielle Rivalität

Trawsfynydd steht im Mittelpunkt von Gesprächen mit der walisischen Regierung über die Ansiedlung kleiner modularer Reaktoren (SMR) in Großbritannien. Der Standort befindet sich im Norden von Wales. NuScale erklärt sich bereit, seine SMR-Technologie an diesem Standort einzusetzen.

NuScale argues that its SMR technology VOYGR has already benefited from this development. Nun muss es nur noch an den Standorten eingesetzt werden. Tom Mundy, Vorsitzender von VOYGR, erklärt:

“Wir glauben, dass wir gut aufgestellt sind, um nach vorne schauen zu können. Es ist nicht so, dass wir erst noch die Technologie entwickeln und dann mit den Projekten voranschreiten müssen”.

According to NuScale, the government has an interest in supporting the SMR technology in the context of the overall British energy balance. The design of the VOYGR 12 Zentrale can accommodate up to 12 NuScale Netzteilmodules. The total gross production is estimated at 924 MWe.
