TotalEnergies announces that it has passed the 500MW mark in distributed solar production on its B2B customers’ sites.
A new step
TotalEnergies equips more than 300 industrial and commercial customer sites. Customers are mainly located in Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the United States. TotalEnergies’ solar projects save on the current cost of electricity and reduce the carbon footprint of customers.
TotalEnergies sells green electricity produced on site via long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs). The group develops, finances, builds and operates solar installations on roofs, harbours or industrial sites. Thus, solar solutions allow companies to produce clean energy directly on their sites.
An ambitious goal
The company’s ambition is to reach net zero by 2050. TotalEnergies is building a portfolio of activities in renewable energies and electricity. As of the end of June 2022, the company’s gross installed renewable electricity generation capacity is close to 12GW.
TotalEnergies is seeking to reach 35GW of gross capacity from renewable sources and storage by 2025. Subsequently, the group aims to increase this capacity to 100GW by 2030. In addition, the company aims to be among the top 5 producers of wind and solar power worldwide.
