Sonnedix Continues to Grow in Italy

Sonnedix, an independent solar power producer (IPP), will develop solar energy in Italy with five projects.

Sonnedix, an independent solar power producer (IPP), will develop solar energy in Italy with five projects. The company is issuing a Notice of Commencement (NTP) for several of its projects totaling 50MW of capacity. The five projects are located in the Lazio and Piedmont regions.

The announcement of the program

Sonnedix announces that TEA TEK and Energy Systems Service will build the solar photovoltaic plants. Construction will be completed between the second and third quarter of 2023. Together, these solar photovoltaic plants will produce more than 87 GWh per year of renewable electricity.

Sonnedix, with these projects, will supply more than 33,000 Italian homes. The solar photovoltaic plants will also avoid the emission of more than 24,000 tons of carbon dioxide per year.

The company currently has over 7GW of capacity, including a development pipeline of over 5GW. In Italy, IPP represents nearly 300MW in operation. In addition, it has over 1.3GW under development.

An independent power producer

Sonnedix is thus an independent solar power producer (IPP). The company has a proven track record of providing the market with high performance, cost-competitive solar photovoltaic power plants. The company develops, builds, owns and operates solar power plants worldwide.

Axel Thiemann, CEO of Sonnedix says:

“Our journey in Italy began more than a decade ago, with a long-term commitment to continue expanding the use of renewable energy in the country. Today, we operate more than 170 solar PV plants and are developing more than 1.3 GW, to help build a bright future for everyone!”

The group continues to expand its global presence in OECD countries. Thus, it has 400 solar power plants in operation.

The company has several hundred MW under construction. Thus, Sonnedix is present in Europe, particularly in France, Germany and the United Kingdom. It is also expanding into the Japanese market and the United States.
