In Shen’an, the Shenmu-Anping coalbed methane pipeline is announced to be connected by CNOOC.
Increase in production capacity
Shen’an starts operations in China. The Shen’an pipeline starts from Shenmu, a city in Shanwi province, and ends in Hengshui city in Hebei province. In addition, the total length of the pipeline is approximately 623 kilometers
Shen’an has a designed gas transportation capacity of 5 billion cubic meters per year. The return to service of the pipeline will effectively free up production capacity for upstream projects. In addition, it will maximize the resource value of the two unconventional natural gas production bases in the Qinshui Basin.
A stable energy supply
It will thus strongly support the supply of natural gas in Northern China. The Shen’an pipeline will therefore enhance CNOOC’s ability to ensure a stable supply of clean energy. It will also contribute to the ecological and low carbon transition.
Currently, the pipeline is the longest coalbed methane pipeline in China. Zhonglian Huarui Natural Gas Co. is the group that built and operates the Shen’an pipeline. China United Coalbed Methane Co, a wholly owned subsidiary of CNOOC, holds a 51% stake in the group.
