PÜSPÖK, a leading player in the Austrian renewable energies sector, announces a major offensive in the photovoltaic field. The recently inaugurated Nickelsdorf I project marks the start of this initiative to increase solar power generation capacity while maintaining agricultural activities.
This 14 MWp Agri-PV facility generates electricity for around 4,300 households and enables ecological grazing with sheep on its 13 hectares.
PÜSPÖK also plans to integrate high-capacity batteries to store the energy produced.
The first of these devices will be operational in Nickelsdorf by 2025, reinforcing the stability of the local power grid.

A strategy of diversification and sustainability

Lukas Püspök, Managing Director of PÜSPÖK, emphasizes the strategic importance of this expansion.
The combination of wind, photovoltaic and energy storage technologies makes Nickelsdorf a ‘Super-Hybridpark’.
This pioneering initiative contributes to Austria’s energy transition and shows how renewable energies can be synergistically integrated with sustainable agriculture.
The Georg Prantl family and Julia, partners in this project, highlight the advantages of this collaboration.
They point out that the combination of sheep grazing and renewable energy production optimizes land use while helping to protect the environment.

Continued expansion with Nickelsdorf II

At the same time, construction of Nickelsdorf II has begun.
This 53-hectare project will supply 68 MWp of electricity, equivalent to the consumption of 23,000 households.
Commissioning is scheduled for 2024, reinforcing PÜSPÖK’s commitment to sustainable energy.
The mayor of Nickelsdorf, Gerhard Zapfl, welcomes the initiative.
The facilities represent a significant step forward for the community, affirming their commitment to sustainable energy and an environmentally friendly future.
The expansion also benefits the local economy, creating jobs and stimulating regional development.

Future prospects and ambitions

PÜSPÖK capitalizes on its 25 years of experience and strong partnerships to guarantee the success of its innovative Super-Hybridparks projects.
PÜSPÖK’s initiative is fully in line with Austria’s climate objectives, aimed at sustainable, stable and independent energy production.
PÜSPÖK’s projects are a perfect example of how renewable energies can be integrated into agricultural activities, offering sustainable, environmentally-friendly solutions.
This innovative approach positions PÜSPÖK as a key player in the energy transition and a model for other companies in the sector.
