US-based Plural, a company specialising in energy asset tokenisation, announced it had raised $7.13mn in a seed funding round led by Paradigm with participation from Maven11, Volt Capital and Neoclassic Capital. The round exceeded initial targets, bringing total funding to nearly $10mn. The raise comes as global electricity grids face increasing strain, with power demand projected to rise by over 50% by 2030.

Plural provides financial infrastructure to facilitate investment in decentralised energy assets such as solar installations, batteries and data centres—projects often too small to attract traditional financing. The company integrates these assets on-chain using smart contracts to structure investment products with embedded compliance, investor rights and reporting tools.

Assets previously out of reach for institutional investors

These distributed energy projects offer strong return potential but are typically excluded from institutional capital channels due to their small scale and associated administrative costs. By making them programmable and fractional via blockchain, Plural enables direct access for a new generation of allocators. The company estimates that developers using its platform save around 2% on capital costs.

With more than $300mn in solar and storage assets available for investment, Plural aims to accelerate deployment of distributed energy projects, particularly in sectors such as cryptocurrency mining and data centres where electricity use is rising rapidly.

Strategic acquisition and operational expansion

Plural recently acquired a registered broker-dealer, now named Plural Brokerage LLC, to facilitate securities transactions between energy partners and investors. This integration embeds regulatory checks within the tokenisation process. The move enhances Plural’s capacity to structure offers that meet institutional standards.

The company is expanding across capital markets, product development, and asset origination, aiming to meet increasing demand for exposure to the electron economy. Hiring has intensified to support the current growth phase.

A platform built for yield and scalability

Plural relies on automated infrastructure to transform complex energy assets into standardised investment instruments, featuring waterfall distributions and configurable access rights. The model allows for faster project construction, improved grid resilience, and direct revenue generation for investors.

Plural’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer Adam Silver believes that rising electrification and artificial intelligence adoption will drive new energy demand, boosting the financial appeal of tokenised energy assets. He considers the electron economy to be one of the most compelling capital markets opportunities of the coming decade.
