The Larport solar farm, developed by Conrad Energy, is now operational, marking a significant step forward for the UK’s energy transition. Located in Herefordshire, the plant will generate 40,000 MWh of renewable electricity each year, equivalent to the power supply for 11,000 homes.

Strategic partnership with BNP Paribas

The commissioning of this project was celebrated with key partners, including BNP Paribas and Ethical Power, as well as representatives of the local community. Steven Hardman, CEO of Conrad Energy, emphasized the importance of this project to the bank’s net-zero ambitions. BNP Paribas, a founding member of the Net-Zero Banking Alliance, will use this energy to decarbonize its UK operations, saving around 375,000 tonnes of carbon over 40 years. Emmanuelle Bury, UK Country Manager for BNP Paribas, affirmed the bank’s commitment to financing the energy transition and living its values through this collaboration with Conrad Energy.

Community Impact and Future Projects

The Larport solar farm illustrates the power of strategic partnerships. This project shows how effective collaboration between Conrad Energy and BNP Paribas can help companies achieve their sustainability objectives while meeting today’s energy needs. Larport Solar Farm is the latest in a growing series of projects from Conrad Energy, which currently manages 950 MW of power generation and battery storage potential across 85 sites. Larport’s success could serve as a model for future projects, illustrating the ability of renewable energies to support the transition to a greener economy.
