The Spanish group Iberdrola announces the creation of Iberdrola France and makes this country one of its priority development areas in Europe. Emmanuel Rollin, previously Director of Iberdrola Renewables’ offshore wind business, will be CEO of Iberdrola France.

France, one of the priority countries for Iberdrola’s growth strategy in Europe

The Iberdrola group has confirmed France as one of the priority countries in its growth strategy, along with Germany and Australia. Current and future investments focus in particular on offshore wind power, but also on onshore wind power, photovoltaics and energy transition services for businesses. The new organization and these multi-billion euro investments will enable the group to consolidate its position as one of the main players in the French energy market and to play a full role in the country’s energy transition.

Emmanuel Rollin, CEO of Iberdrola France

Emmanuel Rollin will be the CEO of the company Iberdrola France which is being created. The operational directors are Stéphane Alain Riou, Director of Offshore Wind; Thierry Vergnaud, Director of Onshore and Cristian Montoya, Director of Customers.

Iberdrola France, world leader in wind energy and pioneer of offshore wind energy in France

Present in France for twenty years, Iberdrola France has developed a long-term investment strategy in the country that will enable it to reach an installed capacity of 614 MW this year. The company is one of the pioneers of offshore wind energy in France, thanks to the 496 MW wind farm in Saint-Brieuc, currently under construction. Iberdrola operates 11 onshore wind farms in France with a total installed capacity of 118 MW. The company is developing a portfolio of onshore wind and photovoltaic projects of more than 800 MW at various stages of development.

The new entity, which is in the process of being set up, will integrate all of Iberdrola’s activities in France, namely the development and operation of renewable energy facilities and the provision of advanced energy solutions to help companies achieve their decarbonization objectives.
