HIF Global, the world’s leading eFuels company, has partnered with energy company Idemitsu Kosan in a strategic cooperation agreement to accelerate the production of carbon neutral eFuels.

HIF Global and Idemitsu commit to the production of eFuels for carbon-neutral mobility

The partnership will focus on Idemitsu’s purchase of eFuels from HIF eFuels facilities around the world, co-investment in HIF eFuels facilities and new facilities in Japan, and the supply of recycled carbon dioxide from Japan for use in the eFuels production process.

The collaboration between these two companies underlines the importance of eFuels in the fight against climate change. eFuels are available now to decarbonize existing cars, ships and airplanes without any modification to their engines.

HIF Global’s facility in Haru Oni, Chile, is already producing carbon-neutral gasoline. Construction of the world’s first large-scale eFuels facility in Texas, U.S., is expected to begin in 2024, with additional facilities in Chile, U.S. and Australia also in the works.

The production of eFuels is a crucial step to promote the decarbonization of mobility using existing infrastructure. Idemitsu is exploring ways to ensure a stable energy supply in a carbon-neutral society in 2050, and eFuels are one of the best ways to achieve this goal. These carbon-neutral liquid eFuels are chemically equivalent to the fuels used today and can be poured into existing engines without any modifications.

A powerful alliance for a greener world

The HIF-Idemitsu strategic cooperation agreement represents an important step in the production and distribution of eFuels worldwide. HIF Global’s mission is to provide highly innovative fuels to enable the decarbonization of the planet. Thus, this partnership with Idemitsu is an important step in achieving this goal. The partnership is well positioned to serve partners in Asia, and working with companies with Idemitsu’s global presence and resources enables HIF Global to achieve its goal of producing 150,000 barrels per day of eFuels.

The production of eFuels is a vital step in the fight against climate change. Idemitsu and HIF Global are leading the way in the production and distribution of carbon-neutral eFuels that can be poured into existing engines without any modifications.

This strategic cooperation agreement is an important step toward achieving a carbon-neutral society and fulfilling our responsibility to provide a stable energy supply for future generations.
