Chinese group Envision Energy has formalised its entry into the Turkish market at the Turkish Wind Energy Congress, announcing a partnership with ERN Holding and Yildizlar Group to develop a 232-megawatt wind farm in Karaman province. This is Envision’s first wind project in Turkey, marking a key milestone in the group’s expansion strategy in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
Diversification goals for Turkey’s energy sector
Turkey is seeking to strengthen its energy security and diversify its electricity mix through renewable sources. According to data from the Turkish Wind Energy Association, the country had an installed capacity of more than 13 gigawatts in May 2025, accounting for over 11% of its electricity consumption. The national target is to reach 30 GW of wind capacity by 2035.
The project led by Envision is part of this strategy. The group will provide advanced turbine technologies as well as its international project execution expertise. The partnership foresees a long-term presence of the Chinese manufacturer in the region, with prospects of expansion into other neighbouring markets.
Strategic partnership with Yildizlar Group
Yildizlar Group, one of Turkey’s largest developers in wind and storage, will oversee the local deployment of the project in coordination with ERN Holding. The company benefits from a strong presence in the national energy sector and an established operational network to accelerate the implementation of large-scale projects.
Envision representatives highlighted the strategic importance of Turkey in their international roadmap, pointing to its geographical position and regional energy ambitions. This partnership is expected to serve as a model for potential future projects in other developing or transitioning energy markets.
Technology deployment and alignment with national targets
The Karaman site will host next-generation turbines designed to optimise performance in variable climatic conditions. Envision Energy is committed to integrating international standards in the construction and operation of the site to maximise output and system reliability.
With this operation, Turkey strengthens its strategy for large-scale wind development. The Karaman project will increase the share of renewable energy in the national grid while attracting foreign investment into the sector.
