Energiekontor AG, a German company specializing in the development and operation of wind and solar parks, has won contracts for four wind projects in Germany. These projects, located in Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia, will have a combined generating capacity of 125 megawatts. The Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) awarded a total of 372 bids in this round of the tender, representing a total capacity of 3.4 gigawatts. The average price for the contracts was set at 6.83 cents per kilowatt-hour.

This award follows the contract allocation in March 2025 for eight additional wind projects, totaling 192 megawatts. In total, the company has now secured 317 megawatts in the first two rounds of 2025. This strengthens Energiekontor’s position in the German renewable energy market as it prepares to advance its large-scale projects.

A solid foundation for future development

Peter Szabo, CEO of Energiekontor, emphasized the significance of these successes in consolidating the company’s portfolio. “These results provide a solid foundation for the realization of our projects in Germany,” said Mr. Szabo. He added that the immediate goal is to finalize financing in order to begin the construction of the wind parks as soon as possible.

International development and a subsidy-free approach

Energiekontor is not limited to the German market. The company is continuing to develop wind and solar projects across several European countries and the United States. One of its long-term goals is to implement wind and solar parks without relying on public subsidies, by pursuing market-priced projects. This approach is expected to allow Energiekontor to remain competitive in the market while contributing to the energy transition.
