The Jordanian solar market has seen a significant advance with Spectrum’s development and ownership of several Build Operate Transfer (BOT) solar projects for commercial and industrial customers. This success has solidified Spectrum’s position as the market leader in the region. In line with its expansion strategy in Jordan and its commitment to invest in sustainable renewable energy projects, Spectrum was acquired by Amarenco MENA.

Strategic Expansion: Amarenco MENA makes Spectrum its main platform in Jordan

Following the acquisition, Spectrum will be renamed Amarenco Jordan and will become Amarenco MENA’s main platform in Jordan. The company aims to achieve a remarkable 200 MW of solar power capacity. This initiative not only reinforces Amarenco MENA’s commitment to the region, but also highlights its commitment to sustainable development through renewable energy initiatives.

Amarenco Group, an independent solar power producer, was formed in 2018 through the merger of two companies with complementary expertise. The first, Méthode Carré, is a French design and project management company founded in 2008 by Olivier Carré. It specializes in the design of photovoltaic projects and the support of investors interested in the solar sector. The second, Amarenco, was created in 2013 in Ireland by Alain Desvigne and John Mullins. Its main objective is to finance and develop renewable energy infrastructures, particularly in France and Ireland.

Amarenco Group: Pioneer in the integration of renewable energy production and consumption

Operating in Europe, the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific region, Amarenco Group engages in the design, development, financing, acquisition, construction and operation of medium to large-scale solar photovoltaic infrastructure. With more than 2,000 successfully completed solar and solar infrastructure projects, Amarenco is Europe’s leading provider of agrivoltaic infrastructure. In addition, the group is behind the largest energy storage project in Europe, promoting the integration of energy production and consumption through short, digitalized supply chains.

With an annual investment of over half a billion euros, Amarenco Group currently employs over 200 professionals worldwide. By 2022, the company has reached nearly 400 MW of installed solar energy capacity and has deployed 1,300 delivery points. These achievements demonstrate Amarenco’s commitment to advancing the renewable energy sector and its ongoing efforts to close the gap between energy production and consumption.

Amarenco MENA’s acquisition of Spectrum marks a key moment for the Jordanian solar energy market. By combining the strengths and expertise of both companies, this strategic move will undoubtedly accelerate the country’s transition to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly energy landscape.
