Wind turbine manufacturer Nordex Group announced it has received a new order from BMR energy solutions GmbH to supply and install three turbines for the “Heinsberg-Boverath” project located in North Rhine-Westphalia. The wind farm will have a total installed capacity of 21 MW. The agreement also includes a premium maintenance contract for the turbines over a period of twenty years.
Strengthened commercial relationship
This order adds to previous projects awarded to Nordex by BMR in 2025. Since the beginning of the year, the Geilenkirchen-based developer has ordered an additional 88.8 MW of turbines from Nordex. The equipment includes N149/5.X models as well as N163 models from the 5.X and 6.X series, scheduled for installation at wind farms in Bedburg, Wanlo, Geilenkirchen, Willich and Heinsberg-Boverath.
The N163/6.X model ordered for Heinsberg-Boverath is part of Nordex’s latest generation of turbines. These units are designed to optimise output on moderate-wind sites, matching the conditions found in this part of Germany.
Staggered installation schedule
The various installations resulting from BMR’s orders are scheduled to come online between 2026 and 2027. These projects will be distributed across several strategic areas in western Germany, including the Rhenish mining district, a region undergoing energy restructuring due to the planned coal phase-out.
With these new contracts, BMR’s total orders placed with Nordex in 2025 now amount to nearly 110 MW. The repetition of these orders highlights the commercial relationship between the two companies in a transitioning German wind market.
