US energy storage system manufacturer Eos Energy Enterprises has signed a supply agreement with MN8 Energy for up to 750 MWh of capacity. The deal includes the deployment of Eos’ Z3™ zinc-based technology, manufactured in the United States, across a portfolio of energy projects managed by MN8. The initial phase may involve 200 MWh with a ten-hour energy discharge duration.
A market driven by high-load demand sectors
The storage systems are designed for critical applications such as data centres, commercial operations and industrial sites. These sectors, experiencing significant consumption growth, seek stable solutions capable of delivering long-duration energy. The use of non-flammable zinc technology also addresses safety requirements while ensuring continuous power generation alongside solar infrastructure.
Strategic deployment across US markets
MN8 Energy plans to integrate Eos batteries into several projects located within the PJM Interconnection market, which covers a large portion of the US East Coast. The combination of Z3™ technology with Eos’ DawnOS™ operating system would support fluctuating loads while enhancing grid resilience. The partnership is seen as a strategic response to rising domestic demand for long-duration storage.
Strengthening Eos Energy’s commercial pipeline
This agreement expands Eos Energy’s commercial portfolio. The company highlights growing confidence in its US-based manufacturing and zinc-based technology, positioning it as an alternative to conventional lithium-ion solutions. Eos aims to secure further contracts in high-growth market segments where managing intermittency has become a strategic priority.
