Chinese manufacturer Gotion High-Tech unveiled a series of energy storage and management technologies at the Solar & Storage Live KSA 2025 exhibition. These announcements mark a key step in its expansion strategy in the Middle East, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s energy priorities. The company notably introduced its GOTION GRID Q system with a capacity of 20 megawatt-hours (MWh), designed for regional power grids and large-scale solar installations.

A modular system for large-scale deployment

The GOTION GRID Q features a modular architecture capable of quadrupling the capacity of conventional 5 MWh systems. This model reduces costs by 20% and deployment time by 50%, according to the company. It is also equipped with a hybrid air-liquid cooling system that improves energy efficiency by 20%, while ensuring a lifespan of 25 years when paired with photovoltaic systems. With an energy density of 400 kilowatt-hours per square metre and multiple international certifications, the battery is designed to meet the demands of Gulf climate and grid infrastructure.

Multisector applications within a digital framework

In addition to storage, Gotion High-Tech also introduced its “All-Scenario Zero-Carbon” digital platform, a centralised solution designed to coordinate energy production, consumption and management. This platform functions as the operational core of a carbon-neutral ecosystem adapted to industrial, residential, logistical and tourism-related applications. It supports features such as electricity trading, carbon management optimisation and energy performance monitoring.

Industrial benchmarks beyond the region

The company relies on industrial facilities in China to demonstrate the viability of its models. Several of its plants have already obtained carbon neutrality certifications, notably through the combined use of photovoltaic plants and energy storage systems. The Xinzhan plant was classified as a model site in the lithium battery industry, while the facility in Inner Mongolia is entirely powered by a 1 gigawatt (GW) solar plant. This installation reduces up to 1.097 mn tonnes of CO2 equivalent per year.

Focus on Saudi Vision 2030

These announcements are part of Saudi Arabia’s ambition to accelerate the development of its energy sector under the Vision 2030 plan. Gotion High-Tech, aiming to position itself as a key player in the region, is thus expanding its portfolio of solutions to support investments in sustainable infrastructure. The company is ranked as a Tier 1 clean energy solution provider by several international sector analysts.
