Ways2H Inc., a subsidiary of Clean Energy Enterprises Inc., recently achieved a pivotal step in carbon-free hydrogen production by harnessing an abundant, low-cost resource: municipal solid waste. This innovative process, based on a patented thermochemical technology, enabled the production of 110 kg of hydrogen from a single ton of waste, resulting in a significantly reduced carbon footprint and making hydrogen potentially competitive with gasoline in today’s market.

The main objective of Ways2H’s innovation is twofold: meeting the growing demand for clean energy while actively contributing to sustainable waste management. At a time when many municipalities and companies face challenges in reducing their carbon footprint, Ways2H’s technology offers a tangible, economically viable solution. Unlike other hydrogen production methods requiring substantial amounts of renewable electricity, this approach utilizes a consistent, readily available waste stream, thus reducing dependency on electric resources.

According to estimates, identified short- and medium-term projects could generate more than $1 billion in revenue from both system sales and hydrogen production facility operations.
