Accord stratégique solaire Italie

The A2A Group, a major player in Italy’s energy transition, and Enfinity Global Inc, a leader in renewable energies, announce the signing of new 10-year Power Purchase Agreements (PPA). The agreements cover the supply of 134 MW of solar energy produced in the Lazio and Emilia-Romagna regions. This clean energy will power the equivalent of 86,000 Italian homes and avoid the emission of over 104,000 tonnes of CO2 per year. This strategic collaboration between A2A and Enfinity Global is an important step forward in Italy’s accelerating energy transition.
“Thanks to this new collaboration with Enfinity Global, we are contributing to sustainable development by increasing the supply of green energy for our customers,” says Lorenzo Spadoni, Head of Production and Trading at A2A.
For A2A, this project also demonstrates the company’s willingness to get involved on Italian soil, in the same way as its collaboration with Volta Green Energy.

Concrete commitment to decarbonization

The first PPA agreements, signed in October 2023, involved A2A’s purchase of energy generated by three Enfinity solar power plants in the Lazio region, totaling 97 MW.
The new agreement extends this relationship by adding a further six solar power plants, reinforcing both companies’ commitment to accelerating Italy’s energy transition.
Carlos Domenech, CEO of Enfinity Global, comments: “We are honored to strengthen our relationship with A2A. This agreement marks a significant step towards providing stable, clean and affordable energy to Italy, while contributing to its 2030 energy transition plan.”

Enfinity Global: a leader in sustainability

Enfinity Global Inc, founded in 2019, is a US-based renewable energy and sustainability services company. With a portfolio of projects totaling 25.1 GW, including operational, construction and development assets, Enfinity aims to become a global leader in the energy transition. The company has offices in the USA, Europe, Japan and India, and strives to make a significant contribution to a net-zero carbon economy. Enfinity’s leadership, with over $37 billion of financing experience in the renewable energy sector and more than 15 GW of solar and wind projects developed or acquired, further strengthens its market position.

Future prospects and impacts

This new agreement between A2A and Enfinity Global illustrates the growth of their relationship and their shared commitment to promoting the decarbonization of Italy.
Solar power projects play a crucial role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and increasing the supply of renewable energy.
By pursuing these initiatives, A2A and Enfinity Global not only support Italy’s climate objectives, but also offer a model for other countries and companies in their efforts to transition to more sustainable energy sources.
