The governing board of Woodway Energy Infrastructure LLC has announced the appointment of Diaco Aviki as President and Chief Executive Officer. The decision comes as the company, specialised in intrastate natural gas transmission infrastructure, strengthens its pipeline network to meet the growing demand from industrial and energy customers in Texas.

A strategic transition for intrastate network development

Diaco Aviki succeeds Thomas King, who joins the board of directors after leading the company since November 2022. During his tenure, Woodway Energy executed several major projects, including the expansion of the Bluebonnet Pipeline and the construction of the Coleto Connector. The company currently operates two assets: the 179-mile Bluebonnet Pipeline system and the 10-mile Comal Pipeline in Comal County.

According to James Fincher, a member of the governing board of Woodway Energy, “Diaco is a seasoned executive with deep expertise in the gas sector and a strong track record in business development and financial performance.” He also acknowledged Mr. King’s contributions in expanding the company’s customer base and shaping its strategic direction.

An experienced profile in energy infrastructure

Before joining Woodway Energy, Mr. Aviki served as CEO of BayoTech, Inc., a company specialised in hydrogen production and distribution solutions. He also sat on the board of directors of Pinon Midstream LLC and was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Crestwood Equity Partners LP. His career began at Exxon, where he led the gas marketing team involved in commissioning the ExxonMobil Golden Pass LNG terminal.

Mr. Aviki holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Auburn University and an MBA in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin. He also serves on multiple academic and professional advisory boards. He stated: “I am honoured to lead Woodway Energy at a time when agility and flexibility are essential to meeting the needs of independent power producers and industrial sites.”

Expansion projects aligned with regional demand

In December 2024, Woodway Texas Coleto Connector LLC, a subsidiary of Woodway Energy, signed an agreement with a power generation company operating in the ERCOT (Electric Reliability Council of Texas) market for the development of a new 9.5-mile pipeline in Goliad County. This project adds to the company’s efforts to modernise and expand infrastructure serving power plants, LNG terminals, data centres and other major energy consumers.
