In West County Cork, Ireland, Ameresco announces the acquisition of a wind farm with a total capacity of 5MW.
A wind farm
In West County Cork, the onshore wind farm is expected to provide electricity to nearly 3,000 homes. The three-turbine site will generate decarbonized electricity that will be fed directly into the local utility grid. This purchase of electricity is subject to a purchase agreement (PPA).
Doran Hole, Ameresco’s executive vice president and CFO, states:
“Having seen firsthand the generating capacity of the wind farms in County Cork, I am very pleased to see Ameresco finalize this acquisition and add more to our diverse portfolio of renewable energy assets. We are proud to be a part of Ireland’s energy transition and look forward to providing clean energy to the region in the years to come.”
The acquisition of this wind farm continues the growth of Ameresco’s wind energy portfolio. The company is expanding its production assets outside the United States and Canada.
