Ways2H reaches a major milestone in carbon-free hydrogen production

Ways2H Inc., a subsidiary of Clean Energy Enterprises Inc., recently achieved a pivotal step in carbon-free hydrogen production by harnessing an abundant, low-cost resource: municipal solid waste. This innovative process, based on a patented thermochemical technology, enabled the production of 110 kg of hydrogen from a single ton of waste, resulting in a significantly reduced carbon footprint and making hydrogen potentially competitive with gasoline in today’s market.

The main objective of Ways2H’s innovation is twofold: meeting the growing demand for clean energy while actively contributing to sustainable waste management. At a time when many municipalities and companies face challenges in reducing their carbon footprint, Ways2H’s technology offers a tangible, economically viable solution. Unlike other hydrogen production methods requiring substantial amounts of renewable electricity, this approach utilizes a consistent, readily available waste stream, thus reducing dependency on electric resources.

Jean-Louis Kindler, CEO of Clean Energy Enterprises, praised this advancement, stating that this achievement represents a significant step forward in our mission to produce hydrogen sustainably and environmentally. With this technology, Ways2H can transform waste that was once difficult to manage into a valuable energy source, actively contributing to a cleaner, more competitive hydrogen market.

With this proof of concept validated, Ways2H is moving into the commercialization phase, aiming to establish strategic partnerships with municipalities, industrial enterprises, and energy providers globally. These collaborations are expected to accelerate the adoption of this technology, making hydrogen more affordable and accessible. According to estimates, identified short- and medium-term projects could generate more than $1 billion in revenue from both system sales and hydrogen production facility operations.

Aligning with the global shift towards renewable energy, Clean Energy Enterprises positions itself as a key player in this transition. By inviting industry stakeholders and the public to engage in this initiative, the company aims to contribute to an energy future where sustainable development and technological innovation are at the forefront.
