The acquisition of these three operating wind farms adds to the Group’s portfolio of projects in operation in the regions, bringing the total capacity to over 100 MW. This transaction is in line with Volta’s strategic plan, which calls for the acquisition of regional wind power projects that have been in operation for more than 10 years and have genuine repowering potential in the long term. Volta also holds other assets in photovoltaic power plants in the south of France. To finance this strategic acquisition, Volta secured a €20 million financing line from Zencap Asset Management, a specialist in unlisted corporate debt and small & mid-cap assets, particularly in the sustainable and energy transition sector. Guillaume Boucher, Partner at Zencap, comments: “We are delighted to support Volta in its wind power business and to contribute to the implementation of its strategic plan, which involves the acquisition of wind power projects with repowering potential.

Implications for Future Development

“The acquisition of these parks is a major milestone in our expansion in France. Volta is now establishing itself as a leading operator in the Grand Ouest region, where its specialized teams are based. With this operation, the renewable energies group is also laying the foundations for the next stages in its development, with repowering potential to be implemented in the coming years”, concludes Benoit Duval, Volta’s Managing Director. Steven Kassab, Partner at Tevalia Capital, commented: “As shareholders in the Volta wind power platform, we are delighted with the completion of this highly structuring transaction, which strengthens the partnership forged in 2019 between Volta and Tevalia Capital in wind power. This transaction expands our presence in wind power, making Volta a key player in the Greater West of France.”

Financing and Outlook

To finance this acquisition, Volta secured a €20 million financing line from Zencap Asset Management, a specialist in unlisted debt in the energy transition sector. This move strengthens Volta’s financial position and enables it to seize new growth opportunities in the wind energy market. The repowering potential of recently acquired wind farms could generate significant increases in energy production, optimizing existing assets and maximizing returns for investors. With this acquisition, Volta Groupe continues to expand its influence in the French renewable energies market, consolidating its position as a major player in the wind power sector. This operation marks an important step in Volta’s growth strategy, aimed at increasing its installed capacity and exploring new investment opportunities in renewable energies.
