In the United States, in Arizona, EE North America announced a partnership with Elio Energy to develop 2GW of solar energy production. The two partners are also collaborating in energy storage. In addition, construction is expected to begin gradually between 2023 and 2025.
An ambition and objectives
In the U.S., this new partnership is a new step for EE North America, the subsidiary of European Energy (EE). Indeed, the company wants to develop 10GW of renewable energy projects by 2026. For example, Lorena Ciciriello, CEO of EE North America, states:
“Our partnership with Elio Energy is another step forward in EE North America’s growth story. This portfolio will provide the clean energy that customers demand while making a significant contribution to achieving net zero emissions goals in the region.”
In early 2022, EE North America announced its entry into the U.S. market. The company will showcase its expertise in the development of renewable energy projects with other qualified companies. Moreover, this ambition is in line with the goals of local governments across the United States.
Decarbonization of transport
In the U.S., EE North America is addressing the needs of hard-to-decarbonize sectors of the economy. Indeed, the company’s ambition is to decarbonize the transport, shipping and industry sectors. In addition, the company obtained the development of a first commercial e-methanol production facility.
Elio Energy operates in the field ofsolar energy storage and batteries in the southern United States. The company has 2.5GW under active development. Finally, the company has a pre-development pipeline of 6GW.
