On Monday, TotalEnergies won a significant share – over 80 MWp or 22% of the allocated capacity – in the latest call for tenders issued by the French Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE). This success reinforces its position as one of France’s leading developers of rooftop solar installations, with capacities in excess of 500 KWp.

Success in the CRE call for tenders

The CRE award positions TotalEnergies as a major player in rooftop solar installations in France, even though the company managed to significantly reduce its emissions last year. TotalEnergies focuses on diversified projects, including roofs for buildings, greenhouses, warehouses and other structures, in response to the specific needs of its customers.

Committed to the energy transition

According to Marin de Montbel, Managing Director of TotalEnergies Renouvelables France, this success testifies to TotalEnergies’ expertise in rooftop photovoltaics. The company aims to support its customers’ energy transition by supplying locally-produced renewable electricity, helping to reduce electricity bills and the carbon footprint of the businesses involved.

Increased investment in renewable energies

In 2023, TotalEnergies has significantly increased its investment in renewable energies, with a direct investment of almost 400 million euros in France. This strategy is part of the company’s broader objective to develop its renewable energy production capacity, including solar, wind and hydroelectric power.

By the end of 2023, TotalEnergies’ installed capacity for renewable electricity generation reached 22 GW. The company plans to expand this capacity to 35 GW by 2025, and is targeting over 100 TWh of net renewable electricity production per year by 2030, as part of its commitment to achieving carbon neutrality.
