Titan Group, a major player in the renewable energies sector, recently announced a significant investment of 300 million euros to build a new monopile production plant in Cuxhaven, Germany. This initiative is part of the company’s strategy to address capacity challenges in the offshore wind energy supply chain. Construction of this plant will start in mid-2024, and will include two halls for welding and coating, as well as floor preparation to support the heavy loads of the monopile production processes. Chinese companies continue to invest in wind turbine construction in Europe, despite a European Union investigation into Chinese wind turbine manufacturers.
A 320,000 square-meter storage area is also under construction. Favourable port conditions and available space are essential elements for Titan Group, enabling not only production, but also storage and logistics of the monopiles.

According to Junxu Yan, CEO and founder of Titan Group, “the investment decision for Titan Wind Energy GmbH in Cuxhaven is an important step in our strategy of global expansion in offshore wind power”. The plant will produce monopiles up to 14 meters in diameter, 140 meters in length and 3,500 tonnes, to meet international targets for offshore wind farm expansion. With an annual production capacity of over 500,000 tonnes, Titan Wind Energy GmbH aims to supply the offshore wind energy markets of the North Sea, the Baltic Sea and the USA.

Stefan Wenzel, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Action, emphasizes that this investment is also an essential step in Germany’s industrial transformation.
Founded in 2005 in Suzhou, China, Titan Wind is primarily engaged in the production and sale of wind towers, blades, turbine foundations, offshore substations and other wind power generation equipment. Over the years, the company has expanded its global footprint with three production facilities in Europe, including a tower plant in Varde, Denmark, a surface treatment plant in Esbjerg, Denmark, and an offshore foundation facility in Cuxhaven, Germany.
